Are You a Rockstar Or a Praise and Worship Leader?

September 2nd, 2010 by shiiiiiitics

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Becoming a praise and worship leader is a wonderful opportunity to serve the Lord, but it also comes with tremendous responsibility. A praise and worship leader must be a servant, not a star, but must also couple their onstage presentation with genuine leadership skills as they manage and arrange the band and singer. Many who start with good intentions can be seduced by the whole experience, so as a leader it is always good to stop and examine your heart as you serve in this area.

Let’s face it: being a praise and worship leader looks glamorous from the audience, especially in a large church, but this belies the true nature of what becoming a worship leader is all about. Most decide to serve in this area because they want to use an obvious gift that the Lord has given them in a positive and tangible way. They sing, or play an instrument, enjoy music and so are keen to use what the Lord has given them in the best way they can.

However, being a praise leader can also come with a “dark side”, because it is a showy and up front gift which can stimulate real pride issues in a way that many other gifts do not. Standing in front of an audience, playing music or singing, often draws adulation from the crowd, and as a praise and worship leader I can attest to the fact that there is a huge degree of satisfaction from leading worship, seeing the people worship deeply, and knowing that you have played a part in it. However, there is a massive difference between feeling satisfaction for a job well done and being engulfed by pride!

Singing on stage is not a phenomenon peculiar to the praise leader. Turn on the TV and you will see, from Hollywood to Bollywood to MTV, men and women on stage singing. Some are famous, every one of them wants to be more famous, and it seems that everybody in the world falls at their feet and loves them. These stars are perfectionists, who often treat others badly and get upset if everything is not prepared exactly to their demanding specifications. It seems that their gift and skill gives them an excuse to behave badly and treat others with contempt.

Many praise and worship leaders have been seduced by the MTV phenomenon. They become perfectionists, short tempered with their music team and enjoy the adulation of the people more than the hard work of serving. I even know a superb praise leader who is currently attempting to “cross over” to the secular world and have a hit record. Is it really to have a platform to proclaim Christ, or is it so he can be famous? Only he knows the truth, but I would suggest that he and I have a fundamentally different view about what being a true leader is. In my eyes, being a praise leader is not a second rate occupation, or a fall back position or a stepping stone to something greater! It is the best, most satisfying and highest calling a musician or singer can have, and I do this as my first choice, not a stepping stone to real stardom!

I know that everyone likes to be in control and everyone likes to be popular, having others look up to them. I feel this myself when I travel and minister around the world and also when I minister in my home church in praise and worship leading. It is entirely natural, but as praise and worship leaders (and as true servants), we need to fight this and remember that, despite our obvious gifts, being a praise and worship leader is not about success, adulation or control.

So if we want to become a true, godly leader, this needs to be more than a feeling of humility. The way we interact with our band and singers, the way we express our desires, the way we conduct ourselves on stage and the way we humbly serve the Lord and the Pastor must reflect a servant’s heart.

Praise and worship leading has one, central, pivotal calling: to serve. Sure, we have a gift, and tend to be fairly popular, but at the core we must be servants. We must never laud it over our team members or church members and we can never afford to be haughty or prideful. We are not stars, not pre-Madonnas and being a praise and worship leader is not a second choice behind being a star on MTV. To whom much has been given, much will be expected, and we need to be those who treat others well and keep our feet on the ground.

Our reward, fellow praise and worship leaders, is in heaven when we hear our Lord say, “Well done, good and faithful servant!”

Keyword Rockstar Price - Is the Keyword Rockstar Price Too Little or Too Much?

August 31st, 2010 by shiiiiiitics

Image : http://www.flickr.com

The price of Keyword Rockstar is obviously an important part of your decision to use it. Fortunately, the program’s features well outweigh the cost, and allow you to substantially increase your profits on top of it. So, why is this the most talked about marketing tool on the Internet? How does its price factor into its value? And why is there a charge for it anyway?

The advantage of being a Rockstar

By far, the best free online keyword research tool is Google AdWords. Using it will help you find the right words and start your marketing campaign. The difference between both programs is that Keyword Rockstar literally is your campaign. It will launch every phase of your advertising in a simple and fast manner.

Installed on your desktop, Rockstar walks you through the process of keyword selection, drawing from Google’s vast database and the most current statistics available. Afterward, you will be able to design your ads, place bids for them, and submit them all in the same convenient console. But saving you time is only one of the many ways its price is well worth the investment.

Basically, Keyword Rockstar is the combination of several different marketing tools in one powerful program. It will even help you study your competitor’s ads, keywords, and placement. Plus, all of the information is stored on your server. From picking the most effective phrases and URLs, to creating successful ads, this is the program that every online business should be using.

Why is there a cost?

Once you begin using Keyword Rockstar, you will know instantly how much work went into its production, as well as how much goes into maintaining and updating it. This is not a standard software program. As illustrated above, it takes the place of at least 5 or 6 essential tools, and makes it easy to switch back and forth between all of them. In addition, the price is not anywhere close to what it should be.

A top notch support team that is constantly improving features is priceless in developing an ad campaign. Rockstar has regular webinars, training, and direct coaching to make sure that you will always get the most out of the product. And the best part is that it is now available for a manageable monthly fee. When you add it all up, the total is a fast, incomparable campaign builder for an amazingly affordable price.

4 Reasons Why Ear Plugs Will Improve Your Rockstar Vocals

August 28th, 2010 by shiiiiiitics

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Everyone wants to be a rocker these days and everyone wants to step in front of the microphone. Some people actually do it. They get the courage, the practice, the gigs, and then they unleash their rockstar vocals.

However, most untrained singers have a difficult time identifying pitch and balance within a band. It’s not really common sense so you shouldn’t expect to be an expert on it.

However, wearing ear plugs during shows, rehearsals, and performances can do wonders. Ear plugs are simple, yet awesome and I have four reasons why you should wear them the next time you perform.

1. You’ll learn better pitch.

Immediately, this is a very good thing. Every good singer should sing in pitch. It’s like saying every good batter should be able to hit the ball. So, why are you going to develop better pitch for your rockstar vocals? Because you can hear yourself now.

Have you ever noticed how much clearer your voice is when you plug one ear? Plug both of them and see what happens. This is a natural reverberation that happens inside your skull. Take advantage of this. Soon, you’ll be hearing the pitches exactly as the audience does. Hopefully, you’ll find out that you’re not that far off.

2. Hearing other instruments is easier.

Whenever I suggest ear plugs to musicians sometimes I get responses like “I can’t hear anybody” and “Everything is too soft now.” This is just baloney. The reason things appear that way is because your ears are not used to them. It’s like turning out the lights after you’ve been staring at a radiating bulb. You’re gonna see those harsh light circles for awhile.

If you wear ear plugs from now on, at each band rehearsal, your ears will adjust, and you’ll begin to notice the real melodies of the instruments and not the piercing white noise from too much distortion on guitars. After your ears have adjusted you can let your rockstar vocals cut through, creating a much rounder, balanced sound.

3. You won’t lose your voice as often or ever again.

Losing your voice shouldn’t be an option for a singer. Your body is telling you that you’re doing something wrong. You’re pushing your rockstar vocals way to hard. If you wear your ear plugs, you can develop a much better attuned awareness of how much effort you’re exerting when you perform. It’s due to that inner reverberation I mentioned before.

This also helps when you happen to perform in a club or bar with bad monitors. With your naked ears, you may not hear so good, so you overcompensate and kill your voice. Wear your ear plugs and you’ll realize just how much effort you really need to give to have rockstar vocals.

4. You won’t lose your hearing.

This is the most obvious reason to wear ear plugs. Sure, wearing them is going to help your awareness of your own voice. However, your hearing is equally if not more important than your voice. Have you ever come home from a band rehearsal, or club, or rock show and heard that constant ringing in your ears? That means you’ve experienced hearing loss.

I’m not saying you’re deaf now, but I am saying if your hearing was split into 100,000 partitions, every time you heard that ringing that means you lost between 50 to 100 partitions each time.

Do your ears and your rockstar vocals a favor and get some plugs.

I know for a fact that I’ve lost quite a bit of my hearing since I neglected to wear ear plugs when I first got into rock bands. I also know that my singing was pretty terrible.

Wearing your ear plugs is going to help develop better pitch, hear your band mates clearer, strengthen your rockstar vocals, and save your hearing.

If you happen to catch my band perform sometime, check my ears. I wear ear plugs every time and they’re blue. That’s for the ladies.

MLM Rockstar and Mentor Tom Challan - How Can Tom Help You in Your Business?

August 23rd, 2010 by shiiiiiitics

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Firstly, you could be considering who Tom Challan is. Besides, he’s no rock star or actor and you may never see him on a day-to-day basis on Television. In the social marketing or MLM industry, Tom Challan is one of the most successful small business trainers, who is related to Dani Johnson.

Known to be one of the most wealthy recruiters in history, Tom Challan was able to immediately sponsor more than 5 hundred distributors in just one year into his first business while he’s employed at twenty hours a week.

Also he is an owner of a lead and contact management company called Earn Pro Leads. Also, he offers free weekly trainings called On The Job Coaching ( OJT ) where you’ll be in a position to hear him call leads live. Though he’s not now concerned with any small business, you’ll often see him spend some time in developing his company to help people who are involved in the internet marketing industry,eg me and you.

So, just what does Tom Challan teach? What is he able to do to help become successful in your internet marketing business?

Essentially, Tom Challan is focused on three things on his coaching. He’ll teach you the easiest way to prospect, close as well as outsource. During the past, he did a prospecting and closing class for Dani Johnson which cost 297 bucks per class. This class ran for more than a period of a month and the classes concerned role playing prospecting and closing with Tom himself.

He also provided private correction and mentorship, that will actually reinforce your abilities in prospecting and closing.

The best thing about Tom Challan is that his approach in prospecting and closing is really unique and it is relationship based. He uses questions in order to understand about the core desires of his prospects before he starts to present the advantages of his business to them. His style will allow you to build a powerful connection with your prospect and will finally boost your possibilities in closing the deal.

In the world of internet promotion, Tom Challan’s approach is terribly unique when creating a company. He also outsources all trainings to Dani Johnson’s coaching company, which is also among the most well liked in the internet marketing industry.

The coaching approach is also extremely unique. Rather than explaining to his new prospects what they should do for them to achieve success, he will be able to just say that they should do what he does and listen to him when he’s personally prospecting over the telephone.

Tom’s feat is actually outstanding. His trainings are unique and as a network marketer, you may actually learn from him. I have and I now enjoy the industry loads more than I have before when I had difficulty with prospecting and closing.

If you are unable to appear to grow your down lines and you cannot effectively close deals with your prospects, then I’d suggest that you need to try out the coaching of Tom Challan. Here, you’ll be able to gain a lot of knowledge in prospecting and closing and will finally pave your road to achievement in your social marketing business. Tom Challan is the real thing. He’s awfully successful and he did it in the shortest time possible. If you need to earn your first million without waiting for an especially long time, then I can tell you right now you will wish to train with Tom Challan.

Features and Services Your Web Hosting Service Should Offer

August 22nd, 2010 by shiiiiiitics

Image : http://www.flickr.com

A web host will help your website be accessible to the people online. While that is important it is also important that your web host service have the features that can help you create and maintain your website. These are things that will make your maintenance routines easier.

Does it have FTP or File Manger?

While I prefer the File Manager for moving files, some people prefer FTP. Having both options is best. Other wise you must decide if you want to use the web based File Manager or the FTP, File Transfer Protocol. File Manager is what I recommend for my clients, but Host Gator and Blue Host have both.

Is One Click Installation available?

Most web hosting services offer a “One Click Installation” of popular scripts. While it not exactly one click it is a lot easier than downloading and uploading files and setting up the scripts. Fantastico and Simple Scripts are the most common “one click installation” services and both offer Joomla, TikiWiki, WordPress, Drupal and various shopping carts. But you still will want to make certain it offers the scripts that you need.

Do you need email?

Web hosting services should offer web mail and a large number or even unlimited number of email addresses. This will allow you to have an email with your domain name on the end. You want a large number should you need different accounts for your tasks or for your staff. The web mail will allow you to check your email online rather than on your computer.

What kind of back up do they offer?

Power can fail. Servers can break. While you should back up your website regularly the web host should have different back up plans available. They should have something for power failure and server protection.

Do they offer the database features you need?

Most web host services will offer you a choice of database features. You do not need to worry about them for a one click installation, but for other situations you may. You also want them to offer unlimited databases because each installation of a script is going to need it’s own database. These databases will typically be called mySQL and be accessible with phpMyAdmin, again if you are doing a one click installation you do not need to worry about what those mean.

What else do they offer?

You want things like 24/7 support, 99.9% uptime, and other things that help keep your site online and easy for you to fix. You also want a control panel that is easy to use. Look to see if you can test drive the controls. Remember this is where your website will be so you want it to be something easy to use.

Are you wondering how to get started online? Or need a little how to help?

You can find friendly, easy step by step guides here.

Hannah Montana Rockstar Birthday Party

August 20th, 2010 by shiiiiiitics

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Every Girl under the age of 12 adores Hannah Montana and would love to have a Hannah Montana themed Birthday Party. Why not take it a step further and have a Hannah Montana Rock Star Party! The Invitations: You can purchase ready made invites at a reasonable cost from sites like mine or you can choose to make your own. If you choose the store bought invites you can personalize them by writing on the envelope “Rock stars Only” and filling the invite with gold star confetti. Choose a shape - don’t be boring and use a rectangle! Make a template of a Microphone or a Guitar shape. Write “Rock the Stage at ___’s House Party” followed by all the details on the flip side. Glitter pens are mandatory for these invites! Another super cool idea is to purchase a pack of blank Cd’s. They come in packs of 12 for about $10. With your guidance, have your child design their own cover using rock and roll clip art, pictures of stars and a phrase like “One Night Only.” Photocopy as many as you need with the party details on the backside and replace the generic insert with your personalized cover.

Burn their 3 Favourite Hannah/Miley songs onto the blank discs - no worries, its totally legal as it is for personal use and not resale. Decorations: Hang tons of balloons and streamers in Hannah Montana colours (purple/pink) or go for for metallic colors like silver and gold with posters of Pop Stars and Rock bands all around the room. Write each of your guests name on yellow or gold stars and hang them from the ceiling. Request that your guests come dressed as their favourite musical celebrity but still provide a “dressing table” filled with everything needed to glam up - glitter, tattoos, hair colour, makeup, hairspray and stick on jewels. Create a stage area with plenty of blowup guitars and microphones available where your guests can sing, karaoke or play “Air Guitar.” You know the boys will be doing this! To make a stage simply hang a few ropes in a corner of a room from one side to the other and hang sheets. Voila - A Stage! Decorate your stage area with blinking Christmas lights - as many as you can find! Crafts: Design your own concert t-shirt. Have one plain t-shirt for every guest attending the party. Using fabric paint, stamps or glue on jewels, have the kids write “Rock Star” on the front or back of t-shirt. Further decorate with fabric adornments you find in your local craft store. This can be your take home gift or a part of the loot bag. Party Games: Play “Pass the Mic” - pass a blowup microphone around in a circle with the guests seated.

Play Hannah/Miley’s music mixed in with some popular top 40. When the music stops, the child with the Mic in hand must sing the next line. If not, they are eliminated. If you have a creative bunch, divide the guest into 2 teams and have them make a 30 second music video. Give each team a Cd player with a few Cd’s and 20 minutes to create. Then record their performances and playback their “music videos.” Hilarious! What a keepsake that will be! Menu: Concert Food - Chicken Fingers and Fries served out of large plastic stadium cups. Hot dogs served in tin foil. Popcorn ad Nachos served in individual bags(brown lunch bags cut down) and plenty of sodas. Instead of cake, or as an addition to, give a rock star toast. Give all the guests a plastic champagne glass of 7-up or sparkling water. Have them all sing “Happy Birthday” and then cheer “Here’s to ___” and then the tradition of clinking glasses. Then pig out on your child’s favourite dessert!

How to Market Your Songs

August 19th, 2010 by shiiiiiitics

Image : http://www.flickr.com

With the painstaking work of writing and polishing your song completed, how do you get it to the music industry professionals who can help make it a Billboard hit? Where do you find their contact information? How do you approach them? This article will answer those questions.

First, your song needs to be presented in a form known as a “demo” recording. A demo does not necessarily need to be engineered to the level of a master recording intended for public release but it must be close- it should be completely professional in terms of performance and sound quality. A slightly off key vocalist, low signal levels, music that isn’t tight as a drum and other amateurish mistakes will likely earn your song a trip to the nearest trash can. You’re making a huge time investment in both writing and marketing your song, be sure your product is quality. Unsure if you’re on the mark? My company will send you free mp3 samples of our recent work, request a few and compare (contact information is in the blurb at the end of this article).

The most popular submission formats are CD and mp3 so have each song you intend to market available in those formats. You’ll be presenting them to song publishers, music producers, artists, managers, and others who receive a steady stream of demos, probably every day. Your song must stand on it’s own, hyping it in person or in your cover letter (”This is going to be a huge hit!”) will only mark you as an amateur. If you submit by mail, include a cover letter with just a sentence or two explaining why you are sending the song to them (as a possible addition to their song catalog or for a specific upcoming project). Type everything including the address and return address. Enclose your CD. a 6″ x 9″ envelope will be sufficient.

Presenting in person? Be on time, offer no hype, and don’t talk as the song plays. Certainly, don’t try to do their job for them (”This is blues but add some fiddle and steel guitar and it could be great for Kenny Chesney…”) let them listen, and above all, make no excuses. At that point, it is what it is.

Not all industry people are eager to listen to new songs. But you can find an abundance of those that are through various song marketing tipsheets, books, and your own legwork. I recommend the book Songwriter’s Market which is available at Amazon.com and Row Fax, available at rowfax.com. They are probably the only two sources you’ll need. Your initial contact should be a phone call or a letter with a self addressed and stamped envelope (a.k.a. SASE) enclosed.

Another method of getting songs to an artist is through their band members or the artist during meet & greets after a concert. I’ve heard of a few successes doing this but in my opinion, it’s a long shot. Having been a musician in that situation the last thing I wanted to do at the end of long day of travel, soundcheck and show was to review a CD or keep track of one, so it may get lost before they get around to it. And musicians are very uncomfortable taking a song to the other band members or to the artist they play for as a bad pitch could damage their credibility, it has to be stellar work to even be considered. But it happens and if you’re positive you have a song for a specific band or artist, it’s the most direct route.

I hope this article has given you some insight into the arcane world of song marketing and will inspire you to go out there and pitch your songs until you get that contract or hit you deserve!

Rock Band For the Rockstar in You

August 17th, 2010 by shiiiiiitics

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Rock Band for the PlayStation 3 is what every regular guy who dreams of being a rock god must have. Better still, you can have 4 people playing it at the same time. It’s just the thing to have for a party and beats pinning a tail to a donkey or smashing a piñata. Granted, you can have the same experience with Guitar Hero World Tour, but not all of the gods in the pantheon of rock and roll can be found in the said game. Plus, you have what is called downloadable content (DLC in geekspeak), so you can amass tons of new songs for the game.

If you are a gamer and have been hiding under a rock for the last 5 years or you have no idea about what this Rock band game is all about, then here’s a quick rundown. Basically, you match a specific button press to a series of commands which run vertically across the screen. Think about other beat-based games with drums or with you dancing about in a dance pad and you get the picture. Now, most bands have four members. The Beatles have four members. In fact, there is a Beatles version of Rock band. Anyway, back to the four members. There’s a lead singer, one who plays the lead guitar, the other the bass guitar and finally a drummer. That is exactly what you and your friends get to do in Rock Band. Choose and instrument, turn on the PS3 and the jam session begins. Yes, you don’t fiddle your thumbs over a hand-held controller but you instead get to pull off the commands on controllers which look like the real thing. Right down from the guitars to the drums, and there is even a microphone.

Beat-based games are all the same, you may think. Why bother with Rock Band if you already have Guitar Hero? If you don’t have either but want to buy one, which is better? In the same way that Tekken and Soul Calibur are both fighting games but each takes a different approach to beating the living daylights out of your opponent, the same holds true for Rock Band and Guitar Hero. Rock Band is a bit easier on your fingers and takes less effort to pull off moves compared to the more hard core Guitar Hero. In fact, there is even a family-oriented Lego Rock Band for kids who were born before Ryu of Streetfigher first gave Ken a serving of Dragon Punch. The advantage to this easier game play is obvious. Anyone can pick it up easily and is just the thing to liven up a party where friends and guests may not be ready for a more hard edged game like Guitar Hero. If you want something a bit tamer, go for Rock Band. For a bit more challenging fretting, then choose Guitar Hero. Either way, both are excellent games for that wanna-be rocker lurking inside you.

The only downside to Rock Band is that the price is a bit steep. However, you do get all of the instruments bundled in so you won’t have to go instrument shopping to acquire each piece separately.

Now, if you are ready for stardom and a taste of what it is like to be the rock god, go to [http://playstation3accessories.com/playstation-3-accessories/rock-band-2/] and make your dreams come true.

Benefits and Problems With Rockstar Energy Drinks - Caffeine Energy Drinks Teenagers Consume Daily

August 16th, 2010 by shiiiiiitics

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Energy drinks happen to be a 10 billion dollar industry in the USA, and are predicted to grow exponentially as time continues. The target market appears to be teenagers and university students, for whom Rockstar is marketed. Nonetheless, I observe consumers of all ages and sorts drinking these beverages wherever I look. This concentrated supply of caffeine and energy offers folks the boost they look for to get them through the day. But is Rockstar seriously serving them? Is this drink healthy?

Here I will discuss the main ingredients you should become familiar with in Rockstar:

- Artificial Caffeine Content: Rockstar has 160mg of man-made caffeine in each and every can. To put this in perspective, a can of soda pop only offers about 35mg of caffeine.

- Milk Thistle: The thought behind this ingredient is that it will possibly reduce the intensity of hangovers by way of permitting the liver to digest the alcohol sooner. It can be not known if this in fact works. Milk thistle also has a small antioxidant worth.

- High Sugar Content: There are actually 140 calories and 31 grams of sugar in a single can of Rockstar Energy Drinks!

- Ginseng and Ginkgo: Herbs to stimulate energy. Allergy symptoms and upset stomach are possible with these herbs, but they are safe for many consumers.

- Guarana: Usually in weight-loss pills, this South American herb promotes energy, but can cause major side effects if consumed in large amounts. Side effects can include nausea, headache, seizures, irregular heart rhythms, and anxiety. Do not take with aspirin because it can possibly boost the chance of bleeding.

- Rockstar Energy Drink Also Contains Numerous Synthetic Components.

Because of the high caffeine and sugar content, Rockstar is simply not safe to ingest big quantities of. In case you have any of these conditions- diabetes, heart disease, obesity, or hypertension, this drink is actually a exceptionally poor option for you. Overall, name-brand energy drinks including Rockstar are not a healthy way of obtaining energy.

These drinks, with their severe stimulates and high sugar doses, can offer you not only the “jitters” whenever you consume them, but they will also surely lead to a crash soon afterwards that leaves you feeling way more worn out then before. Moderating your caffeine in your diet is certainly essential so that you do not get addicted to these products. Parents: please limit the caffeine energy drinks teenagers consume… With today’s bans on Red Bull in Norway, Denmark, Uruguay and Iceland, we ought to be careful what we drink!
